STONY BROOK, N.Y.-The Stony Brook volleyball team is set to close out the regular season traveling to UMBC and Binghamton. Stony Brook enters the weekend riding a 13 game winning streak. 

Scouting UMBC
The Retrievers come into the weekend with a 6-18 record (2-8 AE).  The team is coming off losses to UMass Lowell and New Hampshire, both in five sets. UMBC is led by sophomore outside hitter Carmen Freeman, who is averaging 3.20 kills per set, giving her a total of 314 on the season so far. 
 
Last Time Out vs. UMBC 
When the Seawolves faced the Retrievers for the first time this season, the team defeated them in three sets. Senior McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) led the way with 12 kills and junior Kendra Harlow (St. James, N.Y.) had a 2018 career high in kills with 11. 
 
Scouting Binghamton
The Bearcats come into the weekend with a 5-18 record (3-7 AE). The team is coming off a four set loss to New Hampshire, and five set win against UMass Lowell. Binghamton. Binghamton is led by senior outside hitter Gaby Alicea, who is averaging 3.49 kills per set, giving her a total of 297 for the season so far. 
 
Last Time Out vs. Binghamton
When Stony Brook faced the Bearcats for the first time this season, the team defeated them in three sets. Graduate student Emily Costello (Webster, N.Y.) led the way with 14 kills, and Brooks tallied 13 kills ending the match with a .391 hitting percentage. 
 
Keep the Streak!
Since the five set loss to Bryant on September 14, the Seawolves have gone 13-0 in which 10 wins were against conference opponents. The 13 game winning streak is a program record as Division I. 
 
In the Ranks
Stony Brook leads the America East in assists with 1,067 (87 SP) and kills with 1,147 (87 SP).
 
Home Sweet Home!
After the victory against Albany, the Seawolves clinched the #1 seed for the America East Championships. The team also clinched a share of the regular season title. As the #1 seed in the tournament, they earned the right to host. In 2018, the Seawolves were 8-2 at home in Pritchard. 
Stony Brook looks to get full possession of the regular season title with victories this weekend.
