Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Seawolves Clinch America East Regular Season Title and Win 14th Straight, Outlast UMBC

BALTIMORE, M.D.- The Stony Brook volleyball team defeated UMBC in a five set battle (21-25, 25-21, 25-19, 24-26, 15-12) Friday night. The Seawolves improve to 18-8, and the Retrievers fall to 6-19 on the season.

Coach Belzung's Reaction
"What a battle tonight against a really good UMBC team. They have all the weapons and were fighting for their post season. We struggled to get into an offensive rhythm in the first set and really most of the night. UMBC dug a lot of balls and touched everything at the net to force us to feel that way. Credit out seniors for stepping up to the challenge. We are looking forward to Binghamton on Sunday to complete the regular season."
