Boca Raton, Fla. – The Stony Brook softball team finished the third day of at the FAU Parents Weekend Tournament with a 2-0 record. In their first game of the day, the Seawolves took down the Panthers and then beat FAMU in walk off fashion.

"This was a great tournament for us for several reasons: we faced strong competition, we competed well, we won three of four games, and we have a much better idea of what our team is capable of. Most importantly, we see real progress in all areas of our game," said head coach

Game 1: Stony Brook 7, Pittsburgh 5
- The Seawolves struck first in the top of the third. Allyssa Malony (Runnemede, N.J.) and Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.) got things going reaching on back to back errors. Jourdin Hering (Federal Way, Wash.) followed the trend dropping a bunt for a base hit and advancing Corr to third. Ileana Torres (Debray, Fla.) tripled to left field extending the Seawovles lead to 3-0.
- Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) helped herself out hitting a single to right field scoring Torres. Stony Brook would tack on two more runs on two wild pitches by Pitt.
- Stony Brook added another run in the top of the fifth after Rahrich walked and Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Cali.) singled to left field.
- Pittsburgh answered in the bottom of the fifth scoring one run on two hits.
- The Panthers cut the Seawolves' lead to five after adding on one run on two hits in the bottom of the sixth.
- Pittsburgh threatened in the bottom of the seventh scoring three runs on four hits but the Seawolves were able to stop them there.
Game 2: Stony Brook 4, Florida A&M 3
- Florida A&M struck first in the top of the second inning scoring one run on two hits.
- Taylor Pechin (Harrington, Del.) got things going for the Seawolves in the bottom of the second with a single up the middle and advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Riley Craig (Thornton, Colo.). Chelsea Evans (Merced, Calif.) doubled to left center scoring Pechin and tying the game.
- The Rattlers tacked on another run in the top of the third to lead the Seawolves 2-1.
- Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.) got the Seawolves going in the bottom of the fifth with a bunt for a base hit. Jourdin Hering reached on an error advancing Corr to third. Corr then scored after the Rattlers tried to catch Hering stealing. Torres keep the Seawolves going with a single that scored Hering.
- Florida A&M answered in the top of the sixth tying the game up 3-3.
- In the eighth the Seawolves started with Torres on second due to international tie breaker rules. Rahrich moved Torres to third with a sacrifice bunt. Torres then scored off of a walk of hit to left field by Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Cali.).
