BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Stony Brook men's basketball team was unable to get by Vermont, falling 70-51 at Patrick Gym Tuesday night. The Seawolves finish the 2017-18 season with a 13-19 record, while the Catamounts move to 27-6.
Boals' Reaction
"Hats off to Vermont, they have an experienced group that knows how to win and they don't beat themselves," said head coach
Jeff Boals. "I'm really proud of [our] team, all year they have competed and played hard. The last three weeks we've been playing at a high level and I credit these guys for staying positive and coming to work every day."
Highlights

- Vermont responded following the break in action and quickly regained the advantage.
- Stony Brook kept the difference within two possessions for much of the first half and was able to get a big stop on defense to close out the opening period and keep Vermont's lead to single digits.
- Olaniyi drained an early three to get things going in the second and redshirt sophomore Akwasi Yeboah (Chigwell, England) added a pair of free throws to make it a four-point game.
- The Catamounts countered with an 11-2 run to begin to pull away and added seven-straight points nearing the midway point in the half to get it to 19.
- Foul trouble plagued the Seawolves throughout the second half as they tallied 10 in the opening 10 minutes of the period, putting Vermont in the double-bonus the rest of the way.
