STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook softball team squared up with St. John's in their first of six games this week.

St. John's 4, Stony Brook 1
- The Red Storm got on the board early scoring one run on one hit in the top of the first inning.
- St. John's added to their lead in the top of the third inning scoring two runs on one hit to lead Stony Brook 3-0.
- Taylor Pechin (Harrington, Del.) got the Seawolves on the board in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run over the right field fence.
- The Johnnies added one more run in the top of the seventh to lead the Seawolves 4-1.
- Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) was three for four in the Seawolves loss with a double.
