STONY BROOK- N.Y. – The Stony Brook softball team hosted Hartford in a conference double header on Saturday, April 21. The Seawolves took game one in five innings and topped the Hawks in game two.

Game One: Stony Brook 8, Hartford 0
- The Seawolves got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning. Ileana Torres (Debary, Fla.) got things going bunting for a base hit, Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) followed with a single through the right side. Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif.) followed with a home run to center field.
- Stony Brook added to their lead in the bottom of the second. Riley Craig (Thornton, Colo.) led off the inning with a walk and advance to second on a sacrifice bunt. Nicole McCarvill (Clifton Park, N.Y.) bunted for a base hit and advanced Craig to third. Craig then scored after Hartford threw down to second to catch McCarvill stealing.
- After three quick innings on both sides Stony Brook would add to their lead in the bottom of the fifth. McCarvill lead off by getting hit by a pitch and would advance to third on a double by Jourdin Hering (Federal Way, Wash.). McCarvill scored on a fielder's choice hit by Torres to make the Seawolves lead 5-0. Rahrich would ended the game with a home run to left field to lift the Seawolves to 8-0.
- Melissa Rahrich threw her fifth shutout of the season in today's win.
Game Two: Stony Brook 2, Hartford 1
- After two scoreless innings Hartford got on the board first with a solo home run in the top of the third.
- Stony Brook answered in the bottom of the fifth. Riley Craig led off by reaching on an error and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. Then Nicole McCarvill sent one over the center field fence for a two-run home run and to take the lead 2-1.
- Taylor Pechin (Harrington, Del.) picked up her sixth win of the season.
