Riverdale, N.Y. – The Stony Brook softball team swept Manhattan in a Thursday double header at Manhattan.

Game 1: Stony Brook 6, Manhattan 1
- The Seawolves struck first in the top the first. Ileana Torres (Debray, Fla.) got things going be hitting a double to left center. Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif.) singled up the middle scoring Torres.
- Manhattan got on the board in the bottom of the second inning with a solo homerun.
- Stony Brook scored in the top of the fourth after a single by Chelsea Evans (Merced, Calif.) scored Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.) to put the Seawolves on top 2-1.
- The Seawolves added to their lead in the top of the sixth inning scoring one run on two hits.
- Stony Brook extended their lead in the bottom of the seventh when Riley Craig (Thornton, Colo.) singled to right center when scored on a double by Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif.). Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) followed with a double down the left field line scoring Rivera.
Game 2: Stony Brook 6, Manhattan 5
- The Jaspers got on the board first in the bottom of the first scoring one run on one hit.
- Stony Brook fought back in the top of the second inning when Taylor Pechin (Harrington, Del) hit a two-run home run making the score 2-1.
- The Seawolves added to their lead in the top of the fifth. Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif) scored on a double by Riley Craig (Thornton, Colo.) extending Stony Brook's lead to 3-1.
- Manhattan scored in the bottom of the fifth by hitting a solo home run cutting the Stony Brook's lead to 3-2
- Stony Brook added to their lead in the top of the six scoring two runs on three hits.
- The Jaspers tied the game in the bottom of the sixth scoring three runs on zero hits.
- Nicole McCarvill (Clifton park, N.Y.) lead off the eighth inning by getting hit by a pitch and then advanced to third on a single by Torres. McCarvill would then score on Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) single through the left side putting the Seawolves up 6-5.
- Stony Brook held Manhattan off in the bottom of the eighth.
