PRINCETON, N.J. – The Stony Brook men's lacrosse team stumbled at Princeton Saturday afternoon, falling 16-8 at '52 Stadium. Princeton got out to an early lead which forced the Seawolves to play catch-up throughout the day. Stony Brook moves to 4-7 on the season, while Tigers are now 4-6 this year.

"Today was another learning experience for our team," said head coach
Jim Nagle. "Our main focus, now returns to the meat of our conference schedule."
Highlights
- Princeton got on the board first, scoring the first three goals of the game before sophomore
Connor Grippe (Setauket, N.Y.) broke up the game-opening spree.
- Freshmen
Mike McCannell (Orangeville, Ontario) and
Patrick Kaschalk (Windor, Ontario) teamed up as they made it back-to-back goals for the Seawolves and a 3-2 game.
- The Tigers answered with another three-goal run to close out the first quarter.
- Sophomore
Cory VanGinhoven (Fort Mill, N.C.) tried to get things going for Stony Brook in the second quarter when he buried a pass from classmate
Tom Haun (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.), but Princeton responded with four unanswered goals to close out the half.
- Sophomore
Chris Pickel, Jr. (Bayport, N.Y.) picked up a loose ball in front of the cage and fired a shot to strike first in the second half.
- The Tigers added a pair of goals before the Seawolves would strike again. Kaschalk got a goal of his own with 6:28 left in the third on the feed from freshman
Jack Walsh (Miller Place, N.Y.).
- Stony Brook added a pair of goals before the midway point in the final period as sophomore
Wayne White (Huntington, N.Y.) and Haun scored, but a three-goal run by Princeton between scores kept the game in the Tigers' favor.
Notes
- Walsh extended his points streak to nine games with an assist against the Tigers.
- Sophomore
Michael Bollinger (Holbrook, N.Y.) made the start in goal and tallied five stops in 30 minutes of action. He was replaced by senior
Brandon Maciejewski (Pen Yan, N.Y.) in the second half. He allowed six goals and made five saves.
