SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Stony Brook softball team traveled to New Jersey to take on Seton Hall in a mid-week single game.

- The Seawolves got on the board first as Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) led off by getting hit by a pitch she would later on a passed ball.
- Stony Brook added to their lead in the top of the fifth inning. Rahrich led off with a walk, Danielle Petrovich (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) pinch ran for Rahrich and would score on a single up the middle by Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif.) Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.) scored on an error by Seton Hall to extend the Seawolves lead 3-0.
- Lindsey Hughes (San Dimas, Calif.) made her first start of the season and threw a complete game shutout.
