VESTAL, N.Y. -- The Stony Brook softball team fell to UMass Lowell in the second round of the America East Tournament.
Melissa Rahrich was the bright spot for the Seawolves going three for three.
Bryant's ThoughtsÂ
"We came out ready for this game but did not handle the adversity of the third inning well. Limiting free bases at this time of the year is key. It's all about being resilient now and coming out tomorrow ready to compete," said head coach
Megan T. Bryant.Â
HighlightsÂ
- Stony Brook got on the board first in the top of the first inning. Ileana Torres (Debary, Fla.) reached on a fielder choice and then advanced to second on a single to center field by Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.). Torres then scored on a River Hawk error to lead 1-0.
- UMass Lowell took the lead in the bottom of the third scoring five runs on three hits and one Stony Brook error.
- Neither the Seawolves or River Hawks would score again in the game. Â
- Melissa Rahrich has 18 multi-hit games for Stony Brook.Â
