Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

No. 1 Seawolves Cruise Past UNH to Advance to AE Championship for Seventh-Straight Year

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – No. 1 Stony Brook women's lacrosse kicked off the 2018 postseason in impressive fashion on Friday night at LaValle Stadium, defeating New Hampshire, 19-5, in the semifinal round of the 2018 America East Women's Lacrosse Championships.

With the win, the Seawolves (18-0, 7-0 AE) will advance to the 2018 America East Women's Lacrosse Championship contest for the seventh-straight season. Stony Brook has won five-straight conference postseason titles under Head Coach Joe Spallina, and will look to make it six on Sunday, May 6 at LaValle Stadium vs. Albany (ESPN+).

QUOTING HEAD COACH Joe Spallina
"We're 1-0 in the new season. I liked our approach, and I thought we did a nice job jumping on them early – sharing the ball and doing the things that we do well. We had some good stops on defense that turned into quick goals on the other side. Now we have an opportunity to secure our second goal on Sunday, which is to win the conference and get the automatic qualifier in the NCAA Tournament."
