BARRANQUILLA, Columbia – Stony Brook women's basketball forward
India Pagan (New London, Conn.) has been selected to represent Puerto Rico in the 23
rd Central American and Caribbean Games.
Pagan and Puerto Rico will compete for Gold from July 20-24 in Barranquilla, Columbia. The "Warriors" are scheduled to square off with Guatemala on July 20, Barbados on July 21, then Mexico on the 22.
Last summer, Pagan was invited to compete for the Puerto Rican Junior National Team at the U-18 FIBA Americas in Chile with current Stony Brook teammate
Giolibeth Perez (Camuy, Puerto Rico). She helped Puerto Rico advance out of pool play by leading the team in rebounding. Her best game was a 20 point, 11 rebound performance in an upset win over Mexico.
As a collegiate freshman in 2017-18, Pagan tallied 5.8 points and 3.6 assists in 17.9 minutes per contest for the Seawolves. She shot a team-best 54.5 percent (72-132) from the floor in her first year with the program, making 15 total starts.
