STONY BROOK, N.Y- The Stony Brook volleyball team will open America East play on the road Friday against Hartford. The last time the Seawolves faced the Hawks the team defeated them in four sets (2017). Stony Brook comes into the match on a two game winning streak.
Scouting Hartford
The Hawks come into the match with a 7-4 record, which is right above Stony Brook in the America East standings. The team is coming off a 2-1 record at the Lafayette Tournament. At that tournament, they picked up two wins against Fairleigh Dickinson and Delaware State, and fell to Lafayette in four sets. The Hawks are led by junior middle blocker Jenna Bridges who is averaging 4.08 kills per set giving her a total of 155 for the season.

Maria Poole (Stavanger, Nor.) notched 33 kills at the Stony Brook Invitational highlighted by 14 against Bryant, which is the most she has had in the 2018 season so far. Poole's stellar play earned her All-Tournament honors along with sophomore

Kerstetter, Sakowicz Earns Weekly Honors
Kerstetter and junior
LeAnne Sakowicz (Wauconda, Ill.) received America East honors this week. Kerstetter was Defensive Specialist of the Week and Sakowicz was Co-Setter of the Week.
The Cardiff, California native averaged 4.72 digs per set giving her a total of 52 for the weekend. Her consistent play at the Stony Brook Invitational earned her All-Tournament honors.
Sakowicz averaged 10.54 assists per set giving her a total of 116 for the weekend. The Wauconda native now has 511 for the season.
