STONY BROOK, N.Y.- The Stony Brook volleyball team is set to hit the road this weekend as it continues conference play Friday night against UMass Lowell, and Sunday afternoon against New Hampshire. Stony Brook enters the weekend riding a three game winning streak.
Scouting UMass Lowell
The River Hawks come into the weekend with a 1-13 record. The team is coming off a 3-0 loss against New Hampshire. UMass Lowell is led by junior outside hitter Madi Bell who averages 2.02 kills per set, giving her a total of 91 on the season.
Scouting New Hampshire
The Wildcats come into the weekend with a 5-10 record. The team is coming off a 3-0 win against UMass Lowell. New Hampshire is led by senior middle blocker Gabri Olhava who averages 3.02 kills per set, giving her a total of 181 on the season. Sophomore setter Emma Patlovich also is key to the team's success, averaging 9.35 assists per set.
Last Time Out
Stony Brook picked up a win Friday against Hartford 3-0. After a long battle in the first set, the Seawolves came out on top 30-28. The team didn't look back after that taking the second set 25-18, and then 25-21 in the third set. Junior

Maria Poole (Stavanger, Nor.) also had a strong match recording a .625 hitting percentage.

Sakowicz, Poole Earn Weekly Honors

LeAnne Sakowicz (Wauconda, Ill.) received America East honors this week. Poole was Player of the Week and Sakowicz was Setter of the Week,
The Stavanger, Norway native notched 10 kills while marking a league-best .625 hitting percentage against Hartford.
Sakowicz averaged a conference-best 13.66 assists per set against the Hawks, giving her a total of 41 in the match.
