STONY BROOK, N.Y- The Stony Brook volleyball team returns to the road this weekend, traveling across the country for the Washington State Tournament. The Seawolves will face Illinois State, McNeese State and Washington State.  Stony Brook will look to bounce back after falling to St. John's in four sets Tuesday night. This is the third of four early season tournaments for the Seawolves. 
 
Scouting Illinois State
Illinois enters the weekend with a 5-1 record. The Red Birds are coming off of three straight wins at the Top Dawg Challenge. The victories came against Eastern Illinois, Auburn and Butler. The Red Birds are led by senior middle blocker Ali Line, who averages 2.52 kills per set giving her a total of 53 kills so far in the season. 
 
Scouting McNeese State
McNeese enters the weekend with a 0-7 record. The Cowgirls are looking for their first win of the season. Last weekend, they suffered four losses at the Denver Classic. At the classic, the team played against Sacramento State, Denver, UC-Santa Barbara and Air Force. The Cowgirls are led by junior outside hitter Keegan Nelms, who averages 2.17 kills per set giving her a total of 52 kills on the year. 
 
Scouting Washington State
Washington State enters the weekend with a 4-0 record. The Cougars are coming off a four set victory against Northern Iowa. The team is led by senior outside hitter Taylor Mims, who averages 5.07 kills per set giving her a total of 76 for the season. The team's success also is influenced by junior setter Ashley Brown's play. She has a total of 158 assists on the year. 
 
Sakowicz Earns Weekly Honors
Junior LeAnne Sakowicz (Wauconda, Ill.) received America East honors this week. Sakowicz was named Setter of the Week for the second straight week. 
She averaged 10.21 assists per set, 2.14 digs per set and recorded a .320 hitting percentage this past week. 
 
Road to 1,000!
Senior McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) has notched 86 kills so far this season giving her a total of 985 for her career.
