Götesson's Goal Sparks Seawolves, but it's Not Enough Against No. 4 Penn State in NCAA Tournament

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. – Stony Brook women's soccer junior forward Fanny Götesson (Varnamo, Sweden) netted a first half goal and junior goalkeeper Sofia Manner (Helsinki, Finland) shut out fourth-ranked Penn State in the opening 45 minutes, but the Seawolves fell 3-1 to the host Nittany Lions on Friday night in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament at Jeffery Field.

The Seawolves' season came to an end with the loss, but Stony Brook made history in 2019 with a program-record tying 14 wins and the second America East Championship in the past three seasons.
