Twelve Different Seawolves Score as Stony Brook Takes Down UMass Lowell

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook women's lacrosse team notched its first home win of the season in dominant fashion, taking down UMass Lowell by a score of 20-3 at LaValle Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

A total of 12 different players got on the scoreboard including three who earned their first-career scores as a Seawolf. Stony Brook now improves to 2-0 in America East play.

QUOTING HEAD COACH Joe Spallina
"I like the direction of our team. I see growth every day in practice. The fact that we had 12 different goal scorers is a testament to us getting better…When you look at the staple of our team it's back to being a great defense and an opportunistic offense so I think that we're on our way there. We have some kids that are really starting to get comfortable in (Siobhan) Rafferty and Sara Moeller. I think it's just starting to string together some good weeks of practice so we see some growth there."
