STONY BROOK, N.Y.- The Stony Brook softball team split a doubleheader with UMass Lowell on Saturday. The team took down the Riverhawks in game one by a score of 7-0, and fell in game two 4-0.

(Brighton, Colo.) was stellar in the circle in game one, going all seven innings in the circle, giving up no runs. Rahrich struck out four, and earned her 12th victory of the season.Â

"Game one was one of the best games we have played all season and we were strong in all three parts of our game; pitching, hitting and defense. In the second game, we never got going offensively and their pitcher threw a great game. We look forward to the opportunity to win the series tomorrow."
GAME 1: STONY BROOK 7, UMASS LOWELL 0
- Stony Brook scored a pair in the bottom of the first. Â After Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.) reached on a fielder's choice and Rahrich singled, Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif.) brought home Corr on a RBI double making it 1-0.
- The inning continued after Taylor Pechin (Harrington, Del.) and Jordyn Nowakowski (San Diego, Calif.) walked to force in a run making it 2-0.
- The Seawolves tacked on a run in the bottom of the third after Nowakowski doubled, Riley Craig (Thornton, Colo.) brought her home on a RBI single making it 3-0.
- Stony Brook made it 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth after Rivera singled and advanced to second on a sac bunt by Pechin, Nowakowski brought her home on a RBI double.
- The Seawolves finished their scoring with three in the bottom of the sixth. After Jourdin Hering (Federal Way, Wash.) singled, Corr walked and Rahrich was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Rivera brought home Hering and Corr on a RBI single making it 6-0.
- Nowakowski then brought home Danielle Petrovich (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) who was pinch running for Rahrich on a RBI single making it a 7-0 game.

The Seawolves will take on UMass Lowell in the series finale on Sunday at 11 am.Â
