HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.- The Stony Brook softball team fell to Hofstra on Wednesday. The Seawolves were defeated by the Pride by a score of 6-1.

SCORING SUMMARY
- The Seawolves got on the board first with their lone run of the game in the top of the first. After Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.) walked, Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) was hit by a pitch and Riley Craig (Thornton, Colo.) walked to load the bases, Jordyn Nowakowski (San Diego, Calif.) was hit by a pitch bringing in a run.
- The Pride scored three in the bottom of the first, two runs came around on a RBI double making it 2-1, and then the third run came in on a RBI single making it 3-1.
- Stony Brook had the bases loaded again in the top of the second, but were unable to convert on the opportunity.
- Hofstra tacked on a run in the bottom of the fourth after a double eventually came around to score on a sac fly making it 4-1.
- Hofstra finished its scoring in the bottom of the sixth making it 6-1 after a single came around to score on a RBI single, and then a run came home on a throwing error.

NOTES
- Rahrich went all six innings in the circle, giving up five earned runs.
- Rahrich took the loss, and is now 7-7 on the season.
- Stony Brook only had three hits in the game, which came from Corr, Nowakowski and Alina Lance (New Athens, Ill.).

ON DECK
The Seawolves will resume conference play at home this weekend, welcoming Binghamton to University Field. The series will begin with a 1 pm doubleheader on Saturday, followed by a single game on Sunday at 12 pm.
