STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook men's lacrosse team stumbled on Saturday night at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium to visiting Princeton 14-4 in the final non-league game of the regular season.

"This was a disappointing night for the squad, but we are now into league play the rest of the way. We have to learn from this experience and get better. We say it is all about the league a lot, and now it really is. We have league play the rest of the way."
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Seawolves took 45 shots to Princeton's 29.
- Stony Brook collected 32 ground balls and earned 14 faceoff wins.
- Princeton held a 5-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. Junior attacker Cory VanGinhoven (Fort Mill, N.C.) opened the game with Stony Brook's lone goal of the quarter.
- Freshman midfielder Layton Harrell (Newtown, Conn.) scored the Seawolves' goal in the second quarter and Princeton led 9-2 at the break.
- Junior A/M Connor Grippe (Setauket, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder Mike McCannell (Orangeville, Ontario) posted Stony Brook's two second-half goals, both in the third quarter.
NOTES
- Connor Grippe extended his consecutive goals scored streak to five straight games.
- Cory VanGinhoven extended his consecutive goals scored streak to five straight games.
- Cory VanGinhoven also recorded his fourth multi-point game of the season and 13th of his career.
- Layton Harrell netted his 10th goal of the season and his career. He also recorded his fourth multi-point game of the season.
