BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- The Stony Brook men's soccer team kicks off its 2019 campaign with a trip to St. Francis Brooklyn on Friday night. The contest is set to get underway at 4 p.m. at Brooklyn Bridge Park-Pier 5.
Seawolves Notes
- Stony Brook is coming off a 9-6-3 season a year ago. The Seawolves captured the America East regular season title, compiling a 5-1-1 record in conference play.
- The squad returns seven starters from 2018, including leading goal-scorer and America East First Team member, senior striker Jarred Dass (Marabella, Trinidad), along with America East Second Team member, senior defenseman Gustavo Fernandes (West Babylon, New York).
- The Seawolves bring in ten newcomers, including eight freshman along with transfers Kelechi Akujobi (North Babylon, N.Y.) and Kori Cupid (Chaguanas, Trinidad).
- The 2019 recruiting class consisted off three incoming goalkeepers, who join sophomore Yamil Montenegro (Merida, Mexico) as the team's net protectors.
- Head coach Ryan Anatol returns for his ninth season at the helm.

- Stony Brook has won five of its six contests all-time against the Terriers.

- The Terriers are coming off of a 7-10-0 season in 2018, going 4-4-0 in the Northeast Conference.
- The Terriers were selected to finish second in the NEC preseason poll.

- Head coach Tom Giovatto enters his 13th season leading the Terriers, and has accumulated a 113-78-31 record in his career
