NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Stony Brook volleyball team split their final day in action at the Yale Invitational, grinding out a five-set battle win over Sacred Heart (25-19, 23-25, 20-25, 25-19, 15-11) while falling to Army (8-25, 10-25, 18-25) later that afternoon.

Junior
Kiani KerstetterÂ
(Cardiff, Calif.)Â and senior
Liz PulverÂ
(Temecula, Calif.)Â were both named to the All-Tournament team. Kerstetter had 45 digs on the weekend and Pulver tallied 26 kills to help Stony Brook to a 1-2 invitational record.

Coach Belzung's Reaction
"Today was a mixed bag. We were the most disciplined we have been defensively against Sacred Heart and gritted out a win. We turned around and lacked effort and care for our basic shot responsibilities and the consequence was an ugly loss to a smart and physical Army team. With America East play starting next week, we will look to tune up with a week of training before heading to Hartford."
