Stony Brook Drops Opening Match at Bulldog Invite

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook volleyball team opened up competition at the Bulldog Invite with a loss on Friday night, falling to Northern Kentucky in three sets at the McDonough Arena.

The Seawolves (0-5) nearly took set one in a back-and-forth thriller that featured six lead changes and 19 ties, but the Norse came away with the set victory and ultimately the sweep by scores of 29-27, 25-9 and 25-17.

Coach Belzung Reaction
"Northern Kentucky did a great job of creating rhythm on their side of the net and making us uncomfortable all day today. We struggled to gain any momentum and need to find a way to compete tomorrow in a tough two-day match."
