HAMDEN, CONN. — For the second straight night, the Seawolves swept.
The Stony Brook tennis program dominated the doubles portion and kept that momentum rolling in the singles as the team took down Quinnipiac 7-0 to finish a two-win weekend.
"This was a complete team effort," head coach
Gary Glassman said. "We really came out with a purpose in doubles and the result showed. Kristine was down a set and 5-1 and fought back to get the win. It was that kind of match from top to bottom."
Jamie Wei and
Nolwenn Cardoso won 6-0 and Maria Ribeiro and
Mathilde Sreeves followed that up with a 6-1 win to clinch the doubles point.
Four Seawolves won in straight sets, with Cardoso winning the deciding third set after dropping the second and
Kristine Theys rallying from one game from elimination to taking home her No. 5 singles matchup.
The Seawolves, who currently sit 2-4 on the year, head back to Connecticut Feb. 28 and 29 for matchups at Sacred Heart and Fairfield.
