HAMMOND, La. — Southeastern Louisiana took the rubber game of its three-game set with Stony Brook, knocking off the Seawolves 5-2 to claim the series victory.
A day after putting up 11 runs, Stony Brook's bats were held in check, recording just four hits Sunday.
Three of them came off the bat of
Evan Giordano, who extended his season-opening hitting streak to 10 games with a 3-for-4 performance that included his first home run of the season and a pair of doubles. Giordano is batting a team-best .421, with a gaudy OPS of 1.081.
Junior
Chris Hamilton, who blew open Saturday's 11-inning affair open in the final frame with a two-run homer, produced the other hit.
Classmate
Brian Morrisey came on in relief of starter
Josh O'Neill in the fifth and kept the Lions at bay, throwing four innings of relief with just one run across on his watch.
Stony Brook opens the home portion of its schedule when it hosts Central Connecticut in a three-game series that begins Friday at 2 p.m. on AmericaEast.TV.
