BALTIMORE — The Stony Brook women's soccer team finished its 2021 campaign with a 1-0 win against UMBC on Thursday night, as
Alyssa Francese's 43rd career goal was the difference to end the Seawolves' campaign on a high note.
Emerson Richmond Burke came up big in net for the Seawolves, as she recorded eight saves on the night. That was the second-highest total of the season for the Seattle, Wash., native.
Due to results in the league Thursday night, the Seawolves finished seventh and did not qualify for the America East playoffs.
STATS AND NOTES
- Francese's 43 career goals are good for second all-time, two off Erica Keller's record of 45.
- Richmond Burke recorded her sixth clean sheet of the season which places her tied for sixth in a single season in Stony Brook history.
- The helper from von Drigalski is her second of the season and seventh of her career. Beattie, who recorded assists in each of Stony Brook's last two games, finished the year with three assists.
