STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook University volleyball team (12-12, 6-4 America East) fell to UAlbany (12-13, 7-3 America East) in straight sets on Friday night at Pritchard Gymnasium.
The Great Danes used a crucial 8-0 run late in the first set to propel them to a 25-16 win in the opening frame. Stony Brook battled in the second set as the SUNY foes traded points through the duration of the stanza. The Great Danes were able to pull away with a 25-22 victory in the second set to go up 2-0 in the match.

The Seawolves continued to fight in the third set, but UAlbany used a late push to pull away. The Great Danes were victorious in the third and what would be final set by the set score of 25-18.
STATS AND NOTES
- Campbell recorded a team-high tying nine kills as she hit a blistering .467 from the middle. The sophomore has hit over .400 in three out of her last five matches for the Seawolves. Campbell recorded four kills in the second set and four kills in the third set as she provided consistent offense at the net.
- Sophomore setter Torri Henry handed out a match-high 28 assists and picked up eight digs.
- Graduate libero Kiani Kerstetter finished the match with 15 digs. It was the eighth time this season that she totaled 15 or more digs in a match.
- Junior outside hitter Amiyah De'Long tied Campbell for the team lead with nine kills in the match. De'Long also picked up five digs.
- Kunz registered seven kills and did a bulk of her damage in the second set as she tallied five kills in the frame.
NEXT UP
Stony Brook heads to Newark, N.J. to face NJIT on Sunday, November 7, at 1 p.m. The teams last met on Friday, October 15, and the Seawolves came out victorious as they took down the Highlanders in straight sets. Stony Brook has won each of its last three matches against NJIT dating back to last season.
