STONY BROOK, N.Y. — The Stony Brook volleyball team's home opener ended on a down note.
Towson came to Pritchard Gymnasium and swept the Seawolves, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon.
Stony Brook (0-2) held a 20-15 lead in the third season, but Towson rallied to close out the match.
Amiyah De'Long led the Seawolves with eight kills.
Kiani Kerstetter had a team-high 18 digs.
"Towson is a really good team that scrapped really well defensively and put our attackers on their heels," Stony Brook coach Kristin Belzung. "Our group needs to learn quickly that some teams will force us into multiple swings before we're able to earn a point. Some of that comes with experience, which we can only get by competing more. But some comes with a gritty mentality, and I think we can step it up in that area."
Stony Brook returns to action Sunday at Hofstra at 4 p.m.
