NEWPORT, R.I. — The Stony Brook women's tennis team suffered its first blemish of the 2020-21 academic year on Friday.
After three straight wins to open play, the Seawolves fell to host Rhode Island, 4-3.
Jamie Wei,
Sasha Bekirova and
Loreto Villalba-Rubio all won singles matches.
"URI was too good today," coach
Gary Glassman said. "They did a better job on the big points and didn't give away too many free points. We'll definitely learn from this match and use it to improve."
Stony Brook returns to action next Friday at Army West Point.
