Women's Lacrosse Tops Hartford, Posts Largest Victory Margin in 3 Years

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Bridget Considine picked up where she left off against Hofstra, scoring 46 seconds into Sunday's game at Hartford.

And the Stony Brook women's lacrosse team was off to the races in a 19-1 win against the Hawks.

The Seawolves opened the game with 17 unanswered goals.

Ally Kennedy led Stony Brook with four goals, while Kira Accettella, Ellie Masera and Considine had three apiece.

Considine has now produced her first two career hat tricks in the past two games. Accetella and Masera recorded the feat for the first time in their young careers.

Hayley Hunt, making her second career start in goal, limited Hartford to one goal. Hunt also started in the win at UMBC on March 5.

The 18-goal margin of victory was Stony Brook's largest since defeating Vermont 20-2 on March 30, 2018.

The sixth-ranked Seawolves improved to 8-2 overall and 4-0 in America East.

"Today was a great day for us," coach Joe Spallina said. "We got to use our entire roster, and little by little our younger players are really starting to figure things out. The contributions are coming from everywhere."

They return to action Saturday at Vermont.
