DURHAM, N.H. — Make it an eight-peat for the Stony Brook women's lacrosse team.
The Seawolves clinched their latest America East regular-season title with a 22-4 win at New Hampshire on Wednesday.
Stony Brook, which won its 51st straight game against a conference opponent, will host the conference tournament on May 6 and 8 at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
The 22 goals were the most since producing the same total against UAlbany in the America East title game in 2018.
Stony Brook built a 15-2 halftime lead behind five first-half goals from
Ally Kennedy.
Kaeli Huff,
Siobhan Rafferty,
Taryn Ohlmiller and
Kira Accettella all produced hat tricks during the game.
"I'm proud of our kids today," coach Joe Spallina said. "This was a make-up conference game pretty far from home, and our team showed laser-sharp focus in taking care of business start to finish. We were able to play our entire roster. I love the way our young players are progressing."
The Seawolves (11-2, 7-0 AE) complete their regular-season slate on Saturday with a noon matchup against UMBC. A pregame Senior Day ceremony will honor Kennedy, Ohlmiller, Huff,
Sydney Gagnon,
Julia Markey,
Rebecca Kinsley and 2020 graduates
Courtney Troyan and
Caitlyn McDuffee. (Tickets available
