WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The Stony Brook softball team returned to conference play and picked up right where it left off.
The Seawolves swept a doubleheader from host Hartford, 8-0 and 6-1, on Saturday.
Stony Brook improved to 15-6 overall and 4-0 in America East.
Dawn Bodrug tossed a one-hit, five-inning shutout with 11 strikeouts and Jourdin Herring and
Melissa Rahrich drove in three runs apiece in the opener.
In Game 2, Stony Brook grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first inning on RBI singles by
Kyra McFarland and
Nicole McCarvill. Rahrich surrendered a first-inning solo homer to Cori Jones but no other damage in a complete game in the nightcap.
