STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Former Stony Brook wide receiver/returner
Jean Constant is headed to the professional ranks.
Constant announced on Monday that he has signed with the Barcelona Dragons of the European League of Football.
The league is launching this summer with eight franchises spread throughout Germany, Poland and Spain.
"He is a player who has produced very good numbers in college football," Barcelona GM Bart Iacarrino told the team's website. "The technical staff, led by Adam Rita, believes that he has the physical aptitude and technical qualities to give our attack versatility."
Constant, a 5-foot-9, 180-pound native of Delray Beach, Fla., joined Stony Brook as a graduate transfer for the 2019 season after playing as an undergraduate at Bryant. He tallied 919 all-purpose yards in his lone season with the Seawolves, including 28 receptions for 439 yards and five touchdowns.
