BURLNGTON, Vt. — The Stony Brook men's lacrosse team will head into the America East tournament as the No. 3 seed and with a repeat matchup against Vermont.
The Seawolves fell to the host Catamounts, 14-13, on Saturday in dramatic fashion.
The teams meet again in Baltimore on Thursday at 4 p.m.
UMBC clinched the regular-season title with a 14-6 win at NJIT. The Retrievers will face UAlbany in the other semifinal.
In the regular-season finale,
Chris Pickel Jr. scored with eight seconds remaining to even the score at 13. However, Vermont won the faceoff and Liam Limoges scored at the buzzer to win it, although the clock may have started late.
Dylan Pallonetti had a hat trick and
Matt DeMeo,
Tom Haun and Pickel had two apiece.
