Softball Falls at UAlbany as America East Race Tightens

ALBANY, N.Y. — The Stony Brook softball team had its first hiccup in America East play.

UAlbany completed a sweep of a three-game series with a 3-1 win on Sunday.

The loss dropped Stony Brook into a first-place tie with UMBC at 9-4.

Dawn Bodrug was charged with three runs on three hits and two walks in 3 2/3 innings.

Melissa Rahrich then limited the Great Danes to one hit in 2 1/3 scoreless relief innings.

Stony Brook's lone run came on Julianna Sanzone's run-scoring groundout that plated Riley Craig and opened the scoring in the second inning.
