STONY BROOK, N.Y. — It turned into a weekend of two's for Stony Brook men's soccer freshman
Jonas Bickus.
The Lithuanian-born forward scored his second goal of the season, helping his squad to a 2-1 victory, and is the America East's Rookie of the Week for the second time, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Bickus took a low
Trevor Harrison pass and fired high to the keeper's right to level the match in the match in the 73rd minute. The Seawolves would go on to win the match 2-1 in double overtime to move to 4-1 on the season, the squad's best start since 2004.
He becomes the first Seawolves player since Serge Gamwanya earned a pair of honors during the 2015 campaign. He went on to win the league's Rookie of the Year honor later that season.
