STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook University Broadcasting and Storytelling Assistant
Sam Neidermann is set to make his national radio play-by-play debut for Westwood One this Saturday, as he has the call for the Michigan vs. Wisconsin football game in Madison, WI.
"I remember being captivated as a kid the first time I heard a Westwood One broadcast – it was Western Kentucky's half court heave to upset Drake in March Madness in 2008. I used to drive around in college just to listen to Sunday Night Football or March Madness whiparound coverage on Westwood. It's a longtime dream come true. I'm humbled to have the call and excited to represent Stony Brook on a national stage," said Neidermann.
Neidermann joined the Stony Brook Athletics Department during the Spring of 2021 as a Broadcasting and Storytelling Assistant. He has helped elevate the external presence of the Stony Brook Athletics Department through broadcasting, feature storytelling, and social media.
Neidermann is the play-by-play voice of the Seawolves' women's basketball, men's soccer, women's soccer, women's volleyball, baseball, and softball programs. He also handles sideline duties for football and is the host of The Howl, the official Stony Brook athletics podcast.
