WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Stony Brook men's soccer team was defeated by conference foe UNC Wilmington, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon in Wilmington, N.C. The meeting was the first between the Seawolves and Seahawks since September 8, 2006, when UNCW defeated Stony Brook.
UNCW struck first in the 15
th minute when Gabe Mercer dished the ball to Jalen Anderson who was able to find the back of the net.
Despite outshooting the Seahawks, 9-7, in the second half, the Seawolves were not able to convert. Junior
Olsen Aluc and sophomore
Jonas Bickus led the offensive attack for Stony Brook tallying three shots each.
STATS AND NOTES
- Aluc's three shots mark a season-high since recording one shot against Northeastern on September 24th.
- Bickus' three shots extend his season total to 33 placing him within the top 10 in the conference.
- Bas Beckhoven, Trevor Harrison, and Sean Towey all recorded shots in the game.

The Seawolves return to LaValle Stadium for the final regular season contest on Saturday, October 29, when they go head-to-head with Drexel at 4 p.m. Stony Brook will honor its seniors with a pregame ceremony.
