STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook University men's lacrosse team (2-0) used a second half surge to power past Robert Morris (0-3), 18-14, to pick up its second consecutive win. The 18 goals were the most that the Seawolves scored in a game since it found the back of the net 22 times in a win over Binghamton on April 16, 2021.
Stony Brook was paced by 10 different goal scorers and standout play from senior goalie

Five Seawolves recorded multi-goal performances and six finished with multi-point games. Pallonetti (three goals, three assists) and graduate attack
Kevin Mack (two goals, four assists) tied for the game-high with six points apiece. Junior face-off specialist
Renz Conlon set the tone on offense as he won 20-of-34 face-offs and started the game 6-of-7.
Stony Brook jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter as senior midfield
Matt Anderson led the attack with a pair of goals out of the gate. Robert Morris mounted a comeback and went on a 9-2 run and the teams were tied up at 9-9 after the first half of play.
The Seawolves pulled away from the Colonials in the third quarter as they outscored them, 6-1, in the frame to take a 15-10 advantage into the fourth quarter. Stony Brook sealed the game in the fourth quarter as it received goals from McCannell, graduate midfield
Wayne White, and Pallonetti to ice the game.
STATS AND NOTES
- Pallonetti finished with a game-high tying six points (three goals, three assists). It was the seventh hat trick of his career, 14th multi-goal game, eighth multi-assist game, and 16th multi-point game. Pallonetti has tallied at least one point and one goal in every game of his career (16). He added two ground balls and also caused a turnover.
- Mack totaled six points (two goals, four assists) in the win. The four assists tied a career-high which he accomplished twice at Michigan. The performance marked his 26th multi-point game, 13th multi-assist game, and 16th multi-goal game.
- Armitage notched his first career hat trick. The sophomore scored three goals on five shots for the Seawolves.
- McCannell registered his seventh career hat trick and second in as many games. He has extended his points streak to 23 games in a row.
- Anderson total six points (two goals, one assist). It was the eighth multi-goal game of his career and 15th multi-point game. He improved his goal scoring streak to four games in a row, assists streak to six games in a row, and points streak to 11 games in a row.
- Conlon went 20-of-34 on face-offs and picked up a game-high 12 ground balls. The 20 face-off wins and 12 ground balls were both career-highs.
- Palma stopped a career-high 17 shots as he made several key saves down the stretch.
- Junior Christian Lowd picked up a career-high tying six ground balls. Graduate Jacob Williams tallied three ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers.

There were some mental mistakes that I think being two games in its something that we need to continue to work through, but the guys battled and that's what we were hoping for," said head coach

Stony Brook stays on the Island as it travels to Nassau County to compete in the LI Cup at Hofstra on February 25 & 27. Stony Brook opens up tournament play by going head-to-head with St. John's on Friday, February 25, at 6 p.m. The Seawolves will then play either Hofstra or LIU based on results from the opening round on Sunday, February 27.
