The Seawolves held NJIT well below their average shooting clips, as they shot 28.6 percent from the field and 14.3 percent from beyond the arc. Their season averages are 40.8 percent and 28.6 percent, respectively.

IN THE RANKINGS: For the second week in a row, Stony Brook has received votes in the WBCA Top 25 Coaches Poll on Tuesday, February 8. The Seawolves have not received a vote in the poll since the 2019-20 season, when the team received a tally on Jan. 21, 2020, marking the first time in program history. Stony Brook was ranked ninth in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid Major Top 25 poll that was released on Tuesday, February 2.

SEAWOLVES SCOUTING REPORT: The ten-game winning streak is a season-high for Stony Brook and the team's longest streak since they won 22 consecutive games during the 2019-20 season. The Seawolves' ten-game winning streak currently sits the team tied for seventh in the nation along with Stanford. Stony Brook is one of just eight teams in the nation that are currently on a 10-game winning streak or better. The Seawolves' 19 wins are tied for sixth-most in the nation and Stony Brook is one of 11 teams in the nation with 19 wins or more. Stony Brook won the battle for the boards, 50-37, and now improves to 15-0 when they out-rebound their opponents.

SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS: The River Hawks defeated Hartford, 64-57, on Monday, February 7, at Chase Arena in West Hartford, Conn. With the win, UMass Lowell improved to 7-10 (4-4 America East) on the season. UMass Lowell's scoring offense is led by senior guard Kharis Idom. Idom currently leads the team averaging 9.9 points over 17 starts. Junior forward Denise Solis follows closely behind averaging 9.3 points over 16 starts. Head coach Denise King is in her first year at the helm of UMass Lowell. King served as the former assistant coach and recruiting coordinator since 2018. King was named the ninth head coach in program history on May 20, 2021. This is King's first appearance against Stony Brook as head coach.
