STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook University football alumnus Connor Davis was selected by the Michigan Panthers in the United States Football League (USFL) Supplemental Draft. Davis was taken by the Panthers in the sixth round with the 46
th pick overall.
Davis will join former Seawolves teammate Ray Bolden who was drafted by the Panthers in the 16
th round of the USFL's inaugural draft in late February. Davis and Bolden will reunite in Michigan after spending the 2015-17 seasons on Long Island at Stony Brook.
The 6-foot-8, tight end continues his professional career after he most recently spent time with the Cleveland Browns during the 2021 season. Davis spent Weeks 11-17 of the NFL season on the New York Jets' practice squad in 2020.
Prior to joining the Jets, Davis played for the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football in 2019 and the St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL in 2020.
Davis appeared in 41 games over the course of his collegiate career at Stony Brook and primarily played tight end. He also lined up at offensive tackle and defensive end as a Seawolf. Davis caught six passes for 41 yards and recorded 10 tackles and a sack.
