HANOVER, N.H. – The Seawolves received a trio of hat tricks and standout goalie play from senior
Anthony Palma en route to their 14-13 victory over Dartmouth on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, Stony Brook improved to 6-4 on the season and 5-3 in non-conference play as it played its final non-conference opponent of the regular season.
A trio of upperclassmen led the offense for Stony Brook as graduate attack

Mike McCannell all recorded hat tricks in the win. Mack paced the offense with a team-high five assists as he scored three goals and dished out two assists.
Palma stood on his head in the cage as he racked up a game-high 16 saves and picked up three ground balls. His 16 saves were one-shy of his career-high and it marked the third time this season that he registered 16 stops in the cage.
The Seawolves took a 7-5 lead into the halftime break and then built on that advantage by going up 10-7 after three quarters of play. The Big Green rallied from behind and outscored Stony Brook, 6-4, in the fourth quarter. The Seawolves were able to weather a late storm by the Big Green and hang on to the 14-13 advantage and pick up their sixth win of the season.
Stony Brook received a crucial goal from McCannell with 2:26 to play in the game to give it a 14-11 lead. McCannell's goal proved to be the game-winner as Dartmouth went on to score back-to-back goals to cut the lead to 14-13. Following Colin McGill's goal with 1:51 to play, Stony Brook closed the door and held on to knock off Dartmouth for the first time since 1998.
STATS AND NOTES
- Mack finished with five points as he totaled three goals and two assists. It marked the fourth time this season that he recorded five or more points in a game and it was his 10th career hat trick (second at Stony Brook).
- Anderson notched his fourth hat trick of the season and seventh of his career. It was his first three-goal game since rattling the cage three times at Brown on March 12.
- McCannell was the third member of the Seawolves to register a hat trick in the win. It was his fifth hat trick of the season and the 10th of his career.
- Palma made 16 saves in the cage which were tied for his second-most in a game this season. He has now made 16 or more saves in a game four times this season.
- Sophomore attack Dylan Pallonetti scored a goal and tallied an assist in the game. He now has scored at least one goal in every game of his collegiate career (24 games).
- Sophomore attack Noah Armitage, junior long stick midfield Christian Lowd, senior midfield Caleb Pearson, and junior attack Will Button (first of the season) all scored one goal in the game.
- Graduate Jacob Williams picked up a team-high five ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers. Lowd added four ground balls and one caused turnover to his ledger in the win.

The Seawolves return home on Saturday, April 9, to host NJIT at noon in a conference battle. Stony Brook is a perfect 3-0 all-time again the Highlanders and picked up a pair of wins over them last season.
