STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook Athletics Department returned to the St. George's Golf and Country Club on Monday to host another successful Touchdown Club Golf Outing and Seawolves United Golf Classic.

"There is such excitement around Stony Brook Athletics as we move to the CAA, and yesterday's golf outings were proof of that. We had an amazing day with our loyal supporters and I'm extremely grateful to everyone who joined us," said Director of Athletics Shawn Heilbron.

48 foursomes and close to 200 golfers in total participated in both events, each of them playing nine holes of golf. In all, the event raised $80,000 for the Stony Brook Athletic Department and its student-athletes ahead of the 2022-23 year.

"What a great day at our annual Touchdown Club Golf Outing yesterday. It was great to connect with former coach Sam Kornhauser, our alumni that spans many generations, as well as our generous supporters of the program. I really always enjoy this day, Go Seawolves!" said football head coach Chuck Priore.

The morning's Touchdown Club outing totaled 19 foursomes, with Joe Catapano, Chris Yantz, Jeff LeBlanc, and Paul Hermann earning the best foursome honor after a great morning on the links.

The Seawolves United Golf Classic had 29 total foursomes playing, with Stony Brook Athletics' very own Assistant Athletic Director for Business and Finance Patrick Carlucci, Bryan Hale, Bryan Petite, and Matt Siracusa taking home the best foursome in the afternoon.

Prizes available to golfers outside of best score included closest to the pin, longest drive, and a "Beat the Seawolf" contest in each event.

With the generosity of their supporters, the Seawolves can continue their commitment to positively transforming the lives of each student-athlete while at Stony Brook.
