NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook women's track and field team competed in the first day of the two-day Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge at The Armory on Friday.
The Seawolves were led by two top 10 finishes in the 60 meter dash. Junior
Jaelyn Davis finished in sixth place. The Rochester, New York, native set a new personal best with a final time of 7.86 seconds in the 60m dash.
Graduate
Dana Cerbone followed Dawkins and finished the 60 meter dash in eighth place. Cerbone crossed the finish line in 7.89 seconds.
DAY ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Danella Dawkins finished in the middle of the pack, in 16th place, in the 60 meter hurdles preliminary race. Dawkins crossed the finish line in 8.89 seconds.
- Davis finished in sixth place and set a new personal best with a final time of 7.86 seconds in the 60m dash.
- Cerbone followed Dawkins and finished the 60 meter dash in eighth place, crossing the finish line in 7.89 seconds.
NEXT UP
Stony Brook will participate in the second day of the Dr. Sander Invite – Columbia Challenge at The Armory in New York City on Saturday, Jan. 28. The meet will continue at 9:30 a.m.
