MIAMI, Fla. – The Stony Brook softball team (6-7, 0-0 CAA) fell to Nevada (16-2, 0-0 MW), 5-0, at the final day of the FIU Classic on Sunday morning.
The Wolf Pack got off to a hot start, plating two runs in the bottom of the first two RBI singles from Aaliyah Jenkins and Charli Hawkins.
The Seawolves were unable to keep up with Nevada's hot hitting as the Wolf Pack went on to score two more runs in the second and the fifth and final run in the sixth to ultimately take the 5-0 victory.
STATS AND NOTES
- Junior infielder Kyra McFarland went 1-3 at the dish and added a stolen base. McFarland has now recorded at least one hit in the last five of six contests.
- Senior catcher Corinne Badger, senior infielder Brooke Dye, and sophomore outfielder Alyssa Costello all added a hit in the game.
- Junior pitcher Mia Haynes tossed six strikeouts in six innings.

The Seawolves head south to Elon, N.C. for their first-ever CAA matchup against Elon on March 11-12. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday. The game will be broadcast live on FloSoftball.
