STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook football head coach
Chuck Priore named
Casey Case the Seawolves' starting quarterback during CAA Football virtual media day on Tuesday morning.
Case transferred to Stony Brook this past December after spending the first three years of his collegiate career at FBS Buffalo. The 6-foot-6, quarterback joined the Seawolves in January and earned the role after developing in Stony Brook's system throughout spring ball and into the summer.
While at Buffalo, he appeared in one game in 2021 after redshirting his first season in 2020. Before his collegiate career began, he was a two-year starter at Winter Park High School in Florida. The Winter Park, Fla. native threw for 2,265 yards and 22 touchdowns his senior season. Over his two seasons as a starter, he threw for 3,567 yards and 41 touchdowns. Case served as a team captain during his senior season of high school.
Stony Brook kicks off the season on Thursday, August 31, against Delaware under the lights at 7 p.m., at LaValle Stadium. The Seawolves and Blue Hens meet for the first time since October 16, 2021, when Stony Brook picked up a 34-17 win over the Blue Hens on the Island.
