STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook swimming & diving finished up its dual meet schedule with a strong showing at University Pool, tallying up a 154-99 victory against Wagner at University Pool on Saturday.

The Seawolves finish the 2023-24 dual meet slate at 3-3 overall, winning both meets contested at University Pool.

Stony Brook won 10 of the 14 events contested on Saturday, finishing first in both diving competitions and eight swim competitions. Eight different student-athletes won individual events and Stony Brook totaled nine winners with relays. The Seawolves added nine runner-up finishes in Saturday's meet.

Among the highlights, freshman
Sylvia Walker broke two different University Pool records on Saturday, finishing the 50-yard freestyle in 23.88 and the 100-yard freestyle in 51.68. She broke the 50 free record previously set by Sophia Zhao in 2021 (24.08) and the 100 free record previously set by Emily Herr in 2020 (51.94).

Following the meet, Stony Brook Athletics honored the legacy of the late Coach Dave Alexander with a ceremony unveiling the Coach David Alexander Program Record Board. Coach Alexander was instrumental in founding the women's program and coached Stony Brook swimming from 1979-2012.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Sara Distefano started off the meet victorious in the 1-meter diving with a six-dive score of 275.10.
- The 200-yard medley team of Sara Baxter, Alanna DePinto, Michelle Vu and Walker won once again, touching the wall in 1:47.08.
- The Seawolves swept the top three spots in the 600-yard freestyle, with Meredith Yuhasz winning in 6:17.47.
- Senior Mary Kate Conway earned a victory in the 150-yard freestyle, finishing in 1:22.73.
- Walker's record-setting time was good for the victory in the 50 free, Stony Brook's fifth straight to start the day.
- Jocelyn Lichwick put up a Stony Brook diving season-best score of 297.98 from the 3-meter board.
- Michelle Vu joined the winners with a 50-yard butterfly time of 25.69.
- Walker's second record was good for the 100 free victory.
- Ashley Chui won the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 27.74.
- Stony Brook's final victory of the day was a photo finish, with Alanna DePinto finishing in 31.48 to win the 50-yard breaststroke by 0.04 seconds.
