Stony Brook Athletics Announces 2024-25 Basketball Game Themes

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - Stony Brook Athletics announced the men's and women's basketball game themes for the 2024-25 season, including Red Outs against Hofstra, Girls and Women in Sports Day for the women's program, Children's Hospital Day for the men's team and more. 

MEN'S BASKETBALL GAME THEMES:

OPENING NIGHT - November 16 vs. St. Joseph's Long Island
Tip-off the new season in Stony Brook Arena with a welcome back bash for all fans and students highlighted by a tote bag giveaway for the first 200 fans. 

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS NIGHT - November 20 vs. Yale
Stony Brook Athletics recognizes the importance of mental health and will use this game to increase the awareness of fostering a positive culture in our community.

FACULTY AND STAFF APPRECIATION - December 17 vs. Marist
All Stony Brook faculty and staff members are invited to join us for an evening of celebrating our hard-working campus partners. Free tickets will be available for faculty and staff and their families. 

HOLIDAY HOOPS - December 21 vs. Maine
Celebrate the holiday season as Stony Brook Arena becomes a winter wonderland.

KIDS DAY - January 11 vs. Northeastern
The youngest members of Seawolves Nation will take over the gameday experience and be a part of the action like never before. 

January 25 (N.C. A&T) Children's Hospital Day
Stony Brook Athletics and Stony Brook Children's Hospital are proud to carry on the 7th annual tradition of Children's Hospital Day.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION - February 13 vs. Monmouth
Stony Brook will honor local heroes and community members in celebration of Black History Month. Additionally, this game will be featured on CBS Sports Network.

RED OUT AND STUDENT HOOPSFEST - February 27 vs. Hofstra
Wear RED and pack the house for the Battle of Long Island. Stony Brook students can look forward to a special giveaway.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL GAME THEMES:

OPENING NIGHT - November 7 vs. Le Moyne 
Be there for the home opener of the Stony Brook Women's Basketball Joy McCorvey era. The first 200 fans will receive a tote bag.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS NIGHT - November 18 vs. Marist
Stony Brook Athletics recognizes the importance of mental health and will use this game to increase the awareness of fostering a positive culture in our community.

FANSGIVING - November 27 vs. Harvard
Start your Thanksgiving holiday with Stony Brook basketball. This game will include special fan giveaways and more.

PINK GAME - January 12 vs. Charleston
Join Stony Brook in the fight against breast cancer and honor breast cancer survivors for the annual Pink Game.

GIRLS AND WOMEN IN SPORTS DAY - January 26 vs. Campbell
Come join us for our celebration of Girls and Women in Sports Day as Stony Brook hosts a sports clinic for kids ages 4-13 years old. Free tickets will be offered to participants. Registration details will be announced as details become available. 

RED OUT AND STUDENT HOOPSFEST - February 7 vs. Hofstra
