OPENING KICK
- This marks the 26th matchup in program history between these two teams, the first since the Great Danes defeated the Seawolves 38-20 on Nov. 11, 2023, at LaValle Stadium.
- In their first overtime test of the season, Stony Brook prevailed with a stop on Bryant's two-point conversion in the extra frame to secure the 31-30 victory on Saturday afternoon.
- Following their overtime thrilling victory over Bryant on Saturday, the Stony Brook football team earned the No. 17 spot in the FCS Stats Perform Top-25 Poll and No. 18 ranking in the AFCA Coaches Top-25 Poll as announced by both organizations on Monday.
- The No. 17 spot for Stony Brook is the highest they've been ranked in either poll since the squad came in at No. 17 on Oct. 15, 2018.
- Cosh is the fastest coach in program history to reach seven wins and clinched their first winning season since 2018 (7-5).
- The seven wins by Cosh is tied for third most by any first-year head coach in the FCS this season (9, Tim Polasek - NDSU). Cosh is the second youngest FBS or FCS head coach in the country.
- The current FCS biggest improvement in wins from the 2023 to 2024 season are the Seawolves (0-10 to 7-2).
LAST TIME OUT
- Stony Brook secured their seventh win of the season in their first overtime game of the season, 31-30, on Saturday afternoon in Rhode Island.
- Tyler Knoop led Stony Brook's passing attack with 285 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown without throwing an interception. Roland Dempster paced all Seawolves rushers with 107 yards and two touchdowns in the contest, picking up 4.3 yards per carry. Knoop also added 23 yards on the ground.
- Jasiah Williams pulled in 10 catches for 96 yards. Dez Williams made his presence felt in the passing game, recording four receptions for 75 yards. The Seawolves also added 52 yards receiving and one touchdown from Jayce Freeman in the game.
- Jalen Hoyle showed out for the Stony Brook defense, collecting one interception. Dyshier Clary added three tackles, 1.0 TFL, and one sack and Rushawn Lawrence had five tackles, 3.0 TFL, and 1.5 sacks in the win.
- This is the best start to a season for the Seawolves since 2017 (8-2).
- Stony Brook moves to 4-1 all-time against Bryant.
- This is the first Stony Brook victory in overtime since they defeated UAlbany (28-21) on Nov. 4, 2017.
THE BATTLE FOR THE GOLDEN APPLE
- Stony Brook and UAlbany will face each other for the 26th edition for the Battle for the Golden Apple.
- The winner of each year's game is awarded the Golden Apple trophy, a tradition which first began in 2015.
- UAlbany leads the overall series 15-10.
- Saturday will be the 26th time in 30 seasons the game has been contested, including the 11th straight season after both schools became members at the CAA.
- Stony Brook has defended its home turf well in the rivalry, holding an 8-7 home record and winning six of its last seven matchups at LaValle Stadium.
- Stony Brook lost 38-20 last season to the Great Danes, Daron Bryden led Stony Brook's passing attack, finishing 21-of-31 for 208 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown without an interception.

ABOUT THE GREAT DANES
- Head coach Greg Gattuso (Penn State '83) is in his 11th year at the helm of the Great Danes with a career record of 150-99 (.602). He also owned a 97-32 (.752) overall record over his 12 seasons at the helm of Duquesne.
- The Great Danes enter the matchup third to last in the CAA with their 3-6 (1-4 CAA) record.
- Jamal Cooney ranks third in the FCS and leads the CAA with 633 kick return yards this season.
- Dontae Lunan leads the CAA and ranks fifth in the FCS with 5.8 solo tackles per game.
- Juju Uga has five rushing touchdowns on 299 yards to pace the UAlbany rushing attack.
- Myles Burkett is the QB for UAlbany and has 1,845 yards (145-265) with 10 passing touchdowns and seven interceptions this season.
- The defense for the Great Danes has 15 different players who have recorded at-least 1.0 sacks this season but only have recorded one interception this season (Thomas Joe-Kamara).
