EUGENE, Ore. – Stony Brook track and field graduate student Carlos Santos Jr. made history on Friday night, placing 18th in the semifinals of the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Championships to earn All-America honorable mention distinction.

Last night, Carlos Santos became the first Stony Brook DI male track & field athlete to earn All-American honors with an 18th-place finish at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships 👏

Santos finished ninth in his heat and 18th overall with a time of 8:43.07. Santos is the first male track and field student-athlete to qualify for, compete at and earn All-American honors at the NCAA Championships in program history.
